{ love } forever

i hope all of you here in the states had a very happy thanksgiving yesterday ~ and that everyone else had an amazing thursday!! i have so much to be thankful for, including terrific readers (thank you!), a great family, and an incredible group of creative, kindhearted friends.

two of them, marie and fred, were recently married in austin (i flew in from this shoot to attend), in a celebration that was distinctive, inspiring, and very them.

my dear friend whitney (we've been thisclose since 6th grade!) and i served as flower girls, in crowns i whipped up (using this process, but with fuller garland and real flowers). she wore a custom-made louise black dress and vintage cape; i coordinated in an over-dyed marni gown (i bathed it in navy dye to better match whitney's look) and alexander wang boots.

the bride was beautifully bold in a buckskin, fringed poncho and ball skirt (made by leslie crow of heyoka leather and paired with white cowboy boots), the groom even bolder in a red velvet, saville row suit with black leather lapels (paired with a bolo tie and bare feet!).

it was a joyous occasion in every way, and i thought you might enjoy seeing this little peek as you head into a long weekend filled with family and friends.

{ special thanks to jordan and jacqueline for bestowing their hair and makeup magic on whitney and me!! }

{ dinner } at tiffany's

{ i wore: tiffany earrings, necklaces and bracelets (on loan for the evening), gifted kimberly taylor dress (worn as a top), hyde belt, zara skirt (last seen HERE), tiffany clutch (recently seen HERE), manolo blahnik shoes (seen in my kitchen in THIS POST // i found a similar pair for you HERE) }

last thursday night i had the extremely unique privilege of hosting a dinner party at the newly-redesigned tiffany suite at the st. regis hotel in new york. as a fervent fan of both interior design (especially inside swanky hotels! my, how i adore them.) and jewelry (speaking of swanky, i was subtly dripping in borrowed diamonds all night. i loved it.), it was truly like living in a dream.

i was entrusted with this honor as tiffany's newly-appointed eyewear ambassador, and as such i invited a few fellow online scribes to make themselves at home with me there. we celebrated the launch of their latest frames (i've been wearing THIS PAIR nonstop ever since), and were treated to manicures courtesy of deborah lippman, endlessly flowing champagne, and a decadent dinner laid out on tiffany settings by tuxedoed waiters. a girl could really get used to this kind of life!

thank you so much to my friends at tiffany for this unforgettable experience, and to jamie, elana, heather, karla, tracey, sydne, carolyn, julie, and anya for graciously attending. of course i tweeted my whole way through, and shared a few extra instagram pics on facebook too!!

{ christmas is here }

you all have probably seen my apartment by now, so this post will be nothing groundbreaking. nevertheless, i had so much fun dressing the place up for friday's tree-trimming festivities, that i couldn't help but share a few photos. here's the calm before the soirée:

{ the holidays hereafter }

now that we're nearly a week into november, there's no forgetting that the holidays are fast approaching. shops everywhere are gearing up with tinsel, prematurely blasting christmas songs ~ and yours truly is loving every minute of it!

i'm definitely not one to ho-hum the holidays; i adore this time of year! i love the increased odds of mashed potatoes being served at any dinner, the gluttonous deserts that don't 'count' until january 1st, the ritual of family traditions, and the giving and getting of gifts.

in anticipation of the season, i've been looking for fun ways to celebrate with all of you. thus, i've got a slew of giveaways planned, starting next week and continuing until december 25th. but to kick things off properly, let's start with a party:

back in july, i was asked by coach to join nine other bloggers and appear in their holiday campaign, which is slated to launch on november 17th in stores across the country. but before it's officially unveiled, you're invited to the preview event on november 12th in nyc! i can assure you from experience that coach really knows how to throw a fancy, festive fête! i hope to see you there; let's start off the holiday season in style!!

{ save the date } a glamour-eye styling soirée

pen it in!! this saturday, september 25th, i'll be hanging out at the newly redesigned + reopened club monaco in westchester, new york ~ doling out free styling advice to anyone who's interested!

i'm really thrilled to be a part of this party. it's going to be a delightful day full of dressing up AND doing good, because 10% of the event's sales will benefit go pink ~ an amazing organization created and run by westchester-area teens to combat breast cancer. i met the (17 year old!) founding members at a recent planning meeting, and was so moved by their maturity and sense of social responsibility. so, if you don't come out for me (or the fun festivites, or the gorgeous clothes), please come out for them!! their cause deserves all of our support!

let me know in the comments if you think you'll be able to stop by. i LOVE meeting readers!

{ fashion's night out }

friday night threatened to be among the most mortifying moments of my life, but ended up being not only pain-free, but also surprisingly fun!! with next to no broadcasting experience, i was thrown right into the line of fire by juicy couture, who hired me to host a three-hour livestream from their 5th avenue fashion's night out party with erin fetherston.

foolhardy as it may sound, this collaboration actually made a bit of sense. you see, i've recently joined forces with erin to help launch her new and improved website, which includes her first-ever e-commerce shop and blog ~ and just debuted yesterday! between this new interactive interface, tonight's runway show (which will also be live-streamed, starting around 6:45!), and erin's illustrious design post at juicy, it's a really exciting time for both brands, and i'm pretty thrilled to be along to document bits of the adventure.

{ erin wore: a new beaded tee + draped skirt from her upcoming juicy couture collection (in stores in november!) // i wore: a self-designed necklace, bird by juicy couture furry vest, erin fetherston dress, vintage bracelets + clutch, juicy couture ring + badgley mischka shoes }

ad-libbing on camera for hours on end was certainly a challenge, but thankfully juicy really knows how to throw a party, so there was nary a dull moment. CLICK CLICK CLICK to read all about the night on erinfetherston.com ~ then stick around over there for the live-stream!!

{ costume of the day } party weapon

last night i had the delightful pleasure of being invited to a dinner party to celebrate erin fetherston's inauguration as creative consultant for juicy couture. having built a career on the exaltation of all things girly, i think she's a great fit for the brand ~ and the honor could not have been bestowed on a lovelier person.

i wore a lace-edged dress that felt appropriately erin-ish ~ but traded it out for far edgier leather shorts when allowed an after-hours (totally gratis!) shopping spree at juicy's bleecker street store. can't wait to debut those babies!

{ the glamourai for shrimpton couture necklace (coming soon!!), love21 dress, anemone cami, vintage clutch & bracelets, agate rings, LAMB shoes }

besides gorging on macarons and pink champagne (staples of my diet, really), i got to catch up with many of my favorite NY blogger gals ~ like elizabeth (we now have matching black bags), christine (who scolded me for not yet posting pictures of my apartment ~ soon, i swear!), and karen (who promises to make a scarf-tan-ette out of her under-appreciated hermes scarf stash!). my goodness, it was fun.

{ party pages } forever fun

{ chloe glasses (formerly sunnies!), self-designed necklace & ring, go international vest, helmut lang bandeau, lily white tank, forever21 skirt, rachel rachel roy bag, dries van noten shoes }

last night i braved the sweltering summer heat and crushing crowds in times square to attend the opening of forever 21's newest NYC outpost. so worth it! the store was unbelievably grand, gorgeous, and glittering. we were treated to a runway show and private concert by the virgins and i had altogether too much fun catching up with some of my favorite fashion-net friends (krystal, rumi, and jessica). what a perfect way to kick off the weekend!

{ an affair to remember }

every wonderful one of you was invited...

...but for those who couldn't make it, i'm going to do my best to recap the magic of tuesday's coach collaboration cocktail party. before this post really gets underway, let me apologize in advance for what is about to be a total deluge of photos. it's not every day that a girl gets to be the guest of honor at a big splashy party on madison avenue ~ these moments must be savored, no?! okay, so here we go:

first and foremost, i loved seeing my bag design displayed all over the shop. and i really loved how the store employees kept whispering to me that my style was flying off the shelves! hurray for everybody who bought one!! please send me pictures when you wear it (or better yet, take it on an adventure, then tell us all about it, like my friends the beckermans did)!

it was also really wonderful to share the experience with three such talented, dynamic, and inspiring gals as krystal, emily, and karla...

...though it seemed that before the four of us even had a moment to catch up (or to catch our breath!), we were engulfed by an unexpectedly sizable stampede of lovely ladies (and quite a few dapper dudes, too!):

i was floored by how many people took the time to come see us ~ and all looking so darn good to boot! one of the shopgirls sweetly intimated to me that, of the many events they've hosted behind coach's gold-and-glass doors, this one boasted the most stylish crowd of all. she opined that bloggers are re-inspiring society to dress up, and i sure do hope that's true!

the unfortunate downside to the night's terrific turnout was that i was only able to talk to people ever-so briefly. i wished i could linger longer over conversations with old friends and new ~ like the especially sweet reader who left work early and drove in all the way from philadelphia to have me sign the bag she'd ordered online. i wanted to hug her to pieces! or at least give her considerably more time than i was able.

alas, before i knew it, the store doors were closed and the bellinis had gone dry. but pity us not ~ the party wasn't yet over for your intrepid bloggerinas! we were quickly whisked downtown, to the speakeasy-esque drinkery death&co ~ where we were surprised by custom cocktails, individually designed with our particular palliative preferences in mind. i couldn't believe how tastefully they combined my love of irish whiskey and summery mojitos ~ it sure gave new context to my somewhat infamous penchant for mixology!

as with any good cinderella story, i was back in my carriage by midnight. i rode home feeling giddily happy, overwhelmingly tired, and altogether grateful to everyone who made this monumentous occasion so memorable: the gracious, generous team at coach, my sweet glamourguy ~ who dutifully (and beautifully) documented the day's far-reaching festivities, my faithful friends and especially all of the readers who turned out to share a drink and a few hours of chic revelry with me.
