this week marks the 1st anniversary of '
the glamourai.com.' it’s been an exhilarating year! i love running this site; i am grateful for every one of my readers, and i’m looking forward to the future. there’s such a stylish synergy on the fashion interwebs, and i’m proud to be able to contribute to it in my own little way.
many personal joys were begat by birth of this blog, but the biggest reward yet comes today, as I have been afforded the opportunity to reciprocate a
fraction of the support i’ve been shown.

you see, today I am proud to be wearing a hand-screened t-shirt designed by
kyle westphal, a 16-year-old boy living with autism. kyle’s parents recognized that their son was able to find “an immense outlet through art and creativity, and so it was only natural to encourage his artistic visions.”
inspired by their son’s talent, they have launched a campaign to provide free art lessons to autistic children and their families!

when I was in university, my roommate taught art classes to autistic kids, and every day I had the opportunity to hear about the impact this outlet had on the growth and healing of these challenged children. i know that artistic expression is the key to freedom, for everyone, and i believe, as does kyle’s mother, that “fashion is a wearable art.”
designers like
marc jacobs and
stella mccartney have already pledged their support to kyle's cause, and you can too: the beautiful
kyle’s treehouse tees are now available via
etapestry.com! 100% of the proceeds will go to providing free art classes through
the kyle westphal foundation.

i am humbled and honored to be among the first to proudly showcase kyle’s creativity, and i hope you will take a moment to visit and support
fashion for autism!
