as you may know from twitter, i spent this past weekend at brimfield antiques market in massachusetts with the bodacious beckerman bunch, in what has become an annual tradition. i'm working on getting all of my fab finds photographed for you soon (i seriously FILLED the back of a large SUV), but for now, here are a few fast snaps of our flea marketing fun:

{ derek lam } for ebay

minimalism for the masses// i took the above photos at the derek lam x ebay presentation during fashion week in february; fashion fans later voted to decide which 5 pieces would go into production. i have been interested to see how this concept would perform ~ and although the items aren't technically available until may 10th, the collection is currently available for pre-order, and already sold out in nearly every size.

it's intriguing to watch as ebay (one of my very favorite hunting grounds for the vintage and/or obscure) dips its toes into this world of custom content and collections. i look forward to seeing what's next up their sleeves!!

{ when kelly } met kelly

during my recent trip to california, i stopped off in los angeles for a handful of meetings ~ chief among these being a tête-à-tête with a personal role model, kelly wearstler.

i was beyond honored to be given this meeting; to spend a morning with one of my heroes was to have a number of wishes instantly granted! still, i was nervous. it can be disenchanting to meet an idol; what if they don't live up to your expectations of awesomeness?! but kelly was every bit the kind of woman i strive to be: modest, un-jaded, excited by her life, genuinely passionate about her work, and truly living her dreams.

showing me around her design studio, she seemed as much a kid in a candy store as i was! every item in every über-organized drawer was something she'd personally selected or approved because it absolutely inspired and delighted her. as she walked me through her new clothing and jewelry collections, it was clear that she is not one to rest on her laurels, and continues to set and achieve new goals for herself every day. in short, kelly wearstler is a bigger inspiration to me now than ever before!!

{ the jane }

i've enjoyed many a raucous, too-late night inside the always-packed ballroom of the jane hotel, so it was a surprising delight to have it all to myself recently, for a portion of the lipstick diaries shoot i posted friday (and above!). since few ever see its decadent beauty by daylight, i couldn't resist sneaking the following behind-the-scenes snaps:

{ spring tease }

last week jeremy & i headed over to sprout home ~ one of my favorite floral stores ~ to shoot photos for an upcoming collaboration. i'll show you more in a couple weeks when the project launches, but in the meantime i figured everyone could use a little glimpse of spring, via a few preview pics. enjoy!!

spent the weekend finishing a brand new batch of bijoux for the boutique. i don't know which i like best: making jewelry, wearing jewelry, or photographing jewelry?! (seriously, i could spend all day taking macro shots of each teensy stone.) either way, it's a big part of my daily life ~ i suppose i just love having lots of pretty little bitties all around me. if you suffer from the same affliction, have a browse about my freshest jingle jangles, all RIGHT HERE.
