{ a sunday well spent } brings a week of content

this weekend i had: a fresh manicure, a marvelously torturous massage, a steam bath, a hearty laugh, a good cry, a hot date, two cupcakes, and several bursts of inspiration. all in all, a great success! looking forward to the week ahead.

like i said before, this week was the coldest of the season. to cope, i decamped to the country for the weekend, where the house has a fireplace (and central heating!) i can cozy up to. it's times like these that living in a pre-war townhouse with unreliable radiators seems to not be so charming.

this past weekend was a holiday in the states, and i enjoyed it out of the city, hibernating in the hamptons with a few dear friends. we stomped around in the snow, visited vineyards, and played board games in front of the fire. we bought fresh fish and veggies for every meal, and ate like kings. we shopped a little {i think i finally found the perfect pooch purse!}, and introduced bunny to the beach. we read gossip magazines, made lemoncellos, and watched the golden globes...

as last week's red umbrellery reminded me, sometimes our best accessories aren't clothes at all! these rose-gold headphones {from 80s purple} are my new favorite 'jewelry' item; i've had them on all weekend long!

i've just returned to the city from a perfectly peaceful weekend with friends in the hamptons. we indulged in estate sale shopping, fresh fall air, and lots of laughter, but best of all was our apple picking excursion ~ which led to the creation of a genuine homemade apple pie! here's what i wore to work werq the fields:
