it's officially that time of year when we're straddling seasons: summer brights suddenly feel silly, but it's not yet cool enough for full-on fall layers. so i've got a little of everything in here: lace-up sandals, meet color-blocked skirt (black and navy, every new york girl's favorite combo!), meet autumn-auburn blouse. plus a bag passed down from my great-grandmother ~ for me, the best part.

I adore this outfit. it's so sophisticated and classic but also so modern. I have inherited so many little things from my grandmothers and great grandmothers. I treasure them! and it's funny bc I first read your post yesterday and then I was over in soho last night running an errand and I saw a bag in the window of armani exchange that bears a striking resemblance! same shape, color, similar clasp even! but nothing can beat the history and sentiment of yours pictured here. I carried a tiny sequins clutch at my wedding that my grandmother wore to hers and everyone needed to know where I found it...it was my something old and so special.
