{ mademoiselle } en jeans

these vogue spain scans of vanessa paradis wearing ripe white tops and embellished tweed jackets, incongruously combined with dilapidated dungarees...

...inspired me to recently wear this jacket with a favorite bowtie top and too-big, moth-eaten jeans:

what do you think, is it a fitting tribute??

{ tom ford anouk sunnies, elie tahari for neiman marcus jacket (recently seen HERE), jean paul gaultier top, men's calvin klein jeans, kenzo for wolford stockings, prada shoes (i've had 'em forever, but just rediscovered them in my studio last week!) }

PRADAS FROM 2006!? (If I'm not mistaken) I've always found those shoes so ethereal and edgy.

I hope I can have them as part of my collection one day. They're so grand...

My favorite part of your costume is the Jean Paul Gaultier top. Right now I'm really into more traditional looking business wear mixed with casual. Love this look.

Everything about this is classic and ideally so. The white shirt, the black jacket, the jeans, the black heels... and it still looks fresh and unique.

I don't comment very much on your blog because you're so inundated with comments I always wonder if you ever have time to go through them all, but on the chance that you do, I have to say - I am a FAITHFUL follower of Glamourai - you are my one must-read blog every single day without fail. I love everything you put together, but sometimes you create an ensemble that makes me SO excited to try and recreate it. This is one of those outfits. It's simple, really - jacket, blouse, jeans - but looks un-frigging-believable.

Thank you SO MUCH for the daily inspiration. You truly have a gift and I love that you share it with us!

Merci,
Shannan

I think you nailed the look. I have a similar blouse, so I'm going to give this look a try. And don't you just love it when you re-discover clothing items?!

I'm wearing a blouse on my site today that I think you'd love: leopard print, tie-neck, flowy... that's all I'm going to say.
