{ reliably styleable }

today, i present (a bit bittersweetly) my fourth and final costume, as inspired by my partnership with ralph lauren and the big pony collection scents. over the course of this collaboration, i've channeled sporty, seductive, adventurous ~ and today's motivation is stylishness!

now, labeling one's own outfit as being stylish can feel unnervingly presumptuous, so i decided to stick simply with those things i consider to be stalwarts of my own personal style. i always feel at ease in: bow-tie blouses, subtly textured layers, slim-fit, collarless jackets, slouchily tailored trousers, and classic gold pumps:

this collaboration's finishing scent-spiration, as i mentioned in THIS POST, is the collection's most abstracted. it mixes energizing hits of kyarawood and mandarin ~ essences i attempted to recall in the colors of this ensemble (ie: woody taupes met with saffron pops)!

while the ensemble itself felt inherently my style, i loved stumbling across this flag-mural garage art ~ as it seemed so rightly ralph lauren! it felt like an appropriate location from which to conclude the collision of our visions.

{ vintage yves saint laurent sunnies, gifted hare+hart leather trench (also seen HERE), borrowed ralph lauren cashmere cardigan and printed pussy-bow blouse, michael kors watch, prada pants, vintage clutch, miu miu bird brooch, manolo blahnik pumps }

if you'd like to win your own bottle of this stylish scent, please leave a comment below, letting me know what you consider to be your own style standbys. and please give a congratulatory clap to hilaryinspired*, who is the lucky winner** of scent number three!
-----
by the by, if you haven't already, please be sure to check out my GIFT GUIDE FOR GUYS, which was inspired by this and the other three big pony collection colognes!

*hilary, please email me your shipping information so i can send you your prize!!
** once again, i use random.org to pick contest winners ~ i can't bear to choose myself! xoK

congratz to hilaryinspired. I would love to win that scent!

Currently, my style savers are my black corduroy leggings. They are instantly chic and super comfortable (even after a big meal). I can pair them with flat boots or heels and they suit any occasion. My cream and khaki sweater is another style saver. It makes me feel like a snow bunny and its got this super beautiful deep V neckline with lots of extra fabric... hard to explain but its not your ordinary sweater!!!

My style standbys are mixing lace with leather and tweed, classic men's button downs, boyfriend jeans, statement jewelry, big fur hats, and high high heels. I love old school luxury brands, and whats more old school than Ralph? Really enjoying this collab!

Hi ! Thanks for this wonderful giveaway :)
To answer your question, I actually haven't any standbys. I wear a lot of jeans, but not only - it works by periods. Actually I don't really know, I like everything that has a little vintage touch, but I also can wear baggys and cie with no problem. So there you've got a very interesting answer ! I do not know !
But I'll be pleased to win the last scent bottle :)
Love,

My style standbys have to be things that are feminine but with an edge. I love tiered skirts with a touch of leather. Long lean leggings with slouchy tops and pale pink paired with black moto boots.

You tend to pick some great shooting locations for sure. Hmm my standbys? Well one can never go wrong with a nice blazer and slub tee. All you need is a great pair of jeans, skirt, shorts, and some accessories of your choosing and you can look stylish 24/7. Just make sure the blazer fits. I'm always worried it will be too big and then I'll look like a linebacker. So not cool.

My personal style standbys would probably have to be unexpected shoes, like ones with an interesting pattern or hot pink ones with a flower on the toe. They just add more interest to an outfit. Also, I will always love anything and everything grecian looking, like flowing draped dresses and gold braided sandals, or wrapped headbands with my dark curly hair.

My stylish standby would be a plain t-shirt with dressy heels, jeans, and a form fitted blazer. I love the way Ralph Lauren blazers fit me I wear them with a t-shirt and heels almost every Friday to work.

Thank you.

What a lovely-sounding scent!! Style standby-- always having a long and wrappy necklace and scarf. No matter the color or style. Just having the wrappy accessories can style up any plain Jane outfit. Never leave home without a fun scarf-- floral patterns are a fave right now. Standby clothing is that comfortable and stylish pair of dark blue skinny jeans, and a long, form-fitting black sweater with a cowl neck. Skinny jeans and black with a scarf and necklace-- perfect!

i always try to have one outrageous piece, usually the shoes, and keep the rest really understated. i find if i put on too many amazing pieces at once, i look like a dresser from broadway broke into my house and chose my clothes. it's just too much.

Unknown said...

I usually dress casually during the week - skinny jeans and lots of layers for this cold - usually a silk tank, thin v-neck sweater and then a cashmere cardi with a scarf around my neck of some sort and no matter what I wear a great, chic bag and lots of accessories - I wear my wedding ring and on my right hand I'm always wearing a fat cocktail style ring, these days I'm also all about the necklaces or a great pair of earrings (but not both at the same time!) My nighttime look isn't much different except I sub whatever flat boots I'm wearing during the day for a boot with a heel or pumps and instead of a cardi I'll throw on a fitted blazer that's a little dressier.

Veruska said...

My style standbys are all black ensembles, pearls, fur, sequins and leopard prints. I love junk jewelry with a passion and I will always be the most overdressed person in the room...never the most underdressed ;)
