yet another necklace borne of my bonbon binge:

as evidenced by my recent fancies, marie antoinette has provided a wealth of inspiration for me. but i'm really blown away by the variety of fantastical, phantasmagoric, and simply quite fashionable films you recommended! very impressive.

buffalo 66 (recommended by fuastine jardine)
i've sorted through the selection, updated my netflix queue, and added a special toolbar to the bottom right hand column: the glamourai's fifty favorite fashion flicks!
i tried to include a broad range of genres, so if one of your favorites didn't make the cut, it's not that it wasn't worthy ~ i simply couldn't include every 'hepburn' movie and hope to have a well-rounded list! even still, 50 isn't such a big number, so many well-deserving films remain unrepresented. let me know if you feel i've committed some egregious oversight!

tara jarmon linen hoodie, h+m bandage dress, ice.com earrings, self-designed necklace, vintage lucite bangles, alberta ferretti mesh sandals

reds (recommended by inkstain)

layer cake necklace (a shrimpton exclusive)

consider it your 'summer viewing list.' stock up on popcorn and petit fours, curl up somewhere comfy, and allow yourself to be deliciously inspired! i hope you - like me - will discover some new favorites. thanks to everyone who contributed!!!

haha yes!
this totally saves me from having to make decisions about movies.
that always kills me, and I end up not watching anything.
so, alphabetical or random...
Love the outfit and the baubles - tres jolie!
Love to see you without your sunnies. You have such a beautiful face:)
great outfit! i adore that hoodie, not to mention your amazing jewelry!
and i'm very pleased to see clueless on the list... i don't think there's ever been a goodwill trip when i haven't at least given in to some cher horowitz-esque 90s duds!

i love everything about this outfit!
Marilyn Monroe in the Misfits, taught me the ways of Levis and introduced the Cherry dress.
I love this outfit, and how you let the amazing necklace stand out! I will be sure to watch some of these movies over the summer. Where did you take these pictures? The background is awesome.
Beautiful necklace and missed commenting on great movies, but you must see Layer Cake (Daniel Craig before 007 looking/dressed amazing and Sienna Miller wearing Agent Provacateur underwear) as it's a fab movie as is your necklace!! I can't believe no one mentioned Blade Runner or The City of Lost Children (Jean Paul Gaultier did the costumes).
you always look so perfect. as for fashion films i recommend:
Performance with mick jagger and anita pallenberg
Alfie (old and new versions)
ciao! manhattan
hard days night
and all the rolling stones' movies like gimme shelter and cocksucker blues.

@ KD: the photos were taken under a construction scaffolding in williamsburg. you never know where the mood will strike!
@ missgolightly: your comment made me wince because it killed me not to have just ONE more spot for 'city of lost children!' now i'm thinking i have to bump somebody off for JPG costumery!! Aack!
@ krystal: 'ciao! manhattan' defs made the list... haven't seen 'performance' ~ headed to netflix now!!!

love the outfit and your pixie cut
We Were Damsels
I like your hair like this. It's like a more tousled, summery version of a pixie cut. And the blue in the necklace really makes your eyes pop. :]
I agree that your hair is looking great in these pictures! The slightly-tousled look works really well on you, pretty lady!
Such an exquisite necklace! Marie Antoinette is one of my favorite films...so decadent!

I like the hair cut and color. :)
love the bandage dress (i hardly ever see you in h&m!) and as always, your necklaces are truly magnificent.
O Lady Glamourai, where do you get your chains and jewelry-making supplies? Where in the city would you recommend?!?
That is gorgeous! I'm going to include a blurb about your Shrimpton Couture line in the news section of the upcoming issue...it's just too good!
Beautiful necklace, glamourai!
This is more of a clip than a flick, but I think you should watch Brenda Dickson's "Welcome to my Home". Here is the link.

Glamourai, sometimes you have to let old friends out the back door to make way for new ones.
And I second Tania's request for a wee peek at you kimono collection. Pretty please?
Miss Golightly
petra von kant is amazing!
wow! that necklace is unbelievable! :D
I want to eat your pieces, they are just delicious!!!
Henry and June, the Anais Nin bio has some incredible 1930s fashion and everything else that goes along with Paris in the 30s (minus the Nazi invasion, or was that 1940?)
Sorry, forgot to leave my URL!
you look amazing. i love that first and third picture of you. and i love love love buffalo 66. great movie
What about Elizabeth Taylor? Especially in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof or Cleopatra? :) Love this outfit, and especially the shoes...
@ michelle eggers: elizabeth taylor made the list in 'elephant walk.' if you haven't seen it, i happen to believe it is her most fashionably fabulous film!

omg what a beautiful necklace
Just a recommendation in general, if you have not seen it , not really for the list. I always loved Stealing Beauty. In high school, me and my close girl friends all owned a version of her velvet marjanes, and wanted her floaty flower dress after seeing this movie. Its just an all around beautiful film. I also love your site. : )
Love your blog!! Your jewelry is magnificent! This necklace is so unique and beautiful!
girl, you've outdone yourself with that layer cake necklace. yum.
Love, love, love, love, love it!!!!!!!
You look so fresh and beautiful here. The clothing was beautiful, as usual, but I was really struck by how good your hair and makeup looked.
Could you pretty please re post the list of movies?? I'm in desperate need a list of inspiration to watch while it's too cold and stormy to go outside over the holidays!!
